Everything you Need to Know About the E PGPM Programme

E PGPM short for Executive Postgraduate programme in management is a career-oriented program devised for working professionals to build new skills or enhance their existing skills to flourish in their corporate role.

The only difference between a full-time Master’s in Business Administration course and PGPM is the certification. On completion of Master’s in Business Administration, the graduate is awarded a Master’s in Business Administration degree from a UGC recognised University while a PGPM graduate is awarded a PGPM completion certificate from the B-school.

The PGPM course duration can range between 2 to 3 years depending, upon the programme one opts for.

Eligibility criteria for pursuing this course
  • The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of work experience or above
  • The candidate must have completed a Bachelor degree from a recognised college/ university with a minimum aggregate score 50% or equivalent CGPA
  • A valid scorecard of accepted entrance exams like CAT, MAT, GMAT, etc
In most cases, the B schools insist on two reference letters from the employers to gauge the suitability of the candidate for the course.

Admission process

Most B-schools follow a similar process for the admissions.
  • Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of the institute have to fill in the application either online or send the application form by post (as per the instructions from the college)
  • The candidates then have to upload/send the relevant documents as proof of their eligibility
  • The candidates have to produce the results of the entrance exams -usually CAT/ MAT/GMAT scorecards. Some institutes conduct their own entrance exams
  • Based on the academic performance, work experience and written exam scores, candidates are shortlisted for a final personal interview (PI) round.
In the PI round, the candidates are further assessed basis their academic knowledge, their work experience and their managerial and leadership qualities

Candidates who complete all these processes successfully are granted admission for this programme.
