Design of Cylindrical Roller Bearings

The bearings have two types of rings which are known as the inner ring and the outer ring and they are separated by the set of cylinders which not only supports both the rings but also reduce the overall force of the friction. These cylinders are supported by a rib or cage which is attached with either inner or the outer ring depending on the variation you are using. The number of cylinders or the rollers which are used inside a roller bearing may vary and is responsible for the overall performance of the application.

Applications of Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Its application is the most in the paper making industry, electric motorways, railways, motorcycles, pumps and turbines. Some of the spherical ball bearing and spherical plain bearing also use polyamide cages.
